One of the most important aspects of blogging is having people actually read what you’re blogging about! But how do you attract people to your blog? This can be difficult and sometimes pretty discouraging. It takes a lot of time and work… and patience! But don’t worry! I have some tricks I want to share with you to help boost your following in as little as a month! It worked for me and it will definitely work for you! Keep reading to see how I did it!
If you’re wondering why you should care about how many followers you have… I have a question for you. Did you know that you can MAKE MONEY from blogging??? Yes, you heard me correctly! This is no lie! Depending on how much work you put in, you can make A LOT of money! But in order to do so, you need to have people actually reading your content. So lets continue on and go over some ways you can make this happen!
Social Media Accounts
In this day and age, social media is probably an obvious way to “advertise” your blog, but it needs a mention anyway. Make sure you have social media accounts on the major platforms. This includes Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest. If you work on building followers to your social media accounts, then ultimately your followers will be clicking on your links to visit your website!
If you already have accounts, make sure you are making them business accounts. For instance, when I started my blog, I switched my personal Instagram and Pinterest accounts to business accounts. This helps you keep track of analytics, such as how your following is growing and how people are responding to and interacting with certain posts. For Facebook, make a new business page separate from your personal Facebook page. For Twitter, I just changed the name of my account from my name to my blog name. Here are my accounts if you want to check them out:
I have found that in order to build my following and keep followers, you have to stay engaged. You should be posting something on each of your social media sites daily, if not more often. Also make sure you are responding/interacting with your followers when they leave comments. It is very helpful as well to start interacting with other bloggers in your niche. Start liking, commenting on, and sharing their posts, and they will usually reciprocate, making your audience reach expand to all of their followers as well!
Tailwind
Does all of this sound extremely time consuming and exhausting? I agree! It does! But here’s where my little trick comes in… and trust me on this, this will dramatically increase your audience reach and followers without increasing your workload! In fact, it will lessen your workload! Don’t believe me? I will prove it to you. Read on!
Have you heard of Tailwind? If not, you need to! Tailwind is an AWESOME resource for Instagram and Pinterest. When I started my blog, I never really gave Pinterest much thought. But if you think about it, Pinterest is essentially a search engine! You can find anything on there! Once I realized this, I started putting some effort into my Pinterest account. Then, once I discovered Tailwind, my audience reach exploded dramatically! Here is an example of my first month using Tailwind.
This totally blew my mind! I went from only 635 monthly viewers (only 26 of whom were interacting with my pins) to over 30,000 monthly viewers (593 engaged) in only one months time! I was seeing more traffic on my website too!
So what exactly does Tailwind do? Well I’m glad you asked. It actually does a few things for you. First, you can automate your posts on Instagram and Pinterest. So, instead of having to post every single day on these sites, you can schedule your posts a week, a month, or more in advance! This saves me soooo much time! I usually schedule my posts a few weeks in advance, so then I only have to spend time creating my posts one day every few weeks! Tailwind does the rest for me! There’s also an added bonus. Tailwind can automatically schedule your posts in a time slot where a higher number of your audience will be watching! This way, more people are seeing, and interacting with, your posts!
Secondly, the Pinterest section of Tailwind has something called Tailwind Tribes. These are basically groups that you can join to share your pins. There are group rules specific for each group, but the majority seem to require a pin for a pin, meaning, if you share one of your pins, you need to re-pin someone else’s pin. When you re-pin someone else’s pin, it automatically adds it to your calendar to be posted at the optimal time. This really extends your audience reach! Here is how Tailwind Tribes has helped me since I started using it only one month ago.
I have submitted 64 of my pins total throughout my various tribes I have joined. From those, they have been shared 109 times, and have reached over 315,000 people! Not only is my audience increasing dramatically, but I am also helping fellow bloggers out by building their audience too.
So here’s the best part (as if this magical resource wasn’t good enough?!). You can try Tailwind completely free for 30 days! See how dramatically it can increase your audience without paying a cent! They don’t even require a credit card to sign up like most companies do. PLUS, Tailwind Tribes is always free to anyone, even if you don’t use Tailwind itself! You have nothing to lose! I urge you to check Tailwind out today. Click here to learn more: Tailwind
