Babies and toddlers are MESSY! Whether it’s meal time, snack time, or changing time, you can pretty much guarantee there’s going to be some kind of mess involved. I swear I spend half my day cleaning up after them!
Now while my house is not perfectly clean by any means, here are the items I love that keep my life a little less messy, and allow me to spend more time with my children instead of cleaning!! All of the items I have listed have reviews of four stars or higher.
1). Chicco 360 Hook-On Highchair
I LOVE this highchair!!! The main reason: You don’t have to move ANYTHING to clean the floor! I don’t know about yours, but my toddlers drop (or throw) A LOT of food onto the floor. What a pain it would be to have to move the highchair every time I needed to sweep and mop! this is such a time saver (and a saver of my sanity). Plus it has a removable tray AND it swivel 360 degrees to make it easier to get your kiddo in and out!Â
Cleaning it is a breeze, just unsnap and pull out the cloth part and throw it in the washing machine. (An added bonus: If you buy large bibs, you can tuck the bottom into the slot between the tray and the chair, and it will catch the food that doesn’t quite make it to your little one’s mouth!). I have had this high chair for almost two years, and it has not ripped, broken, or shown any signs of wear and tear!
2). Munchie Mug
The Munchie Mug is fantastic for snack time! It has an overlapping cloth enclosure on top to keep the snacks in when turned upside down, yet is easy for little hands to enter and grab the snacks! With a convenient handle, the Munchie Mug makes snack time a breeze (and less messy!).
3). Munchkin Miracle 360 Trainer Cup
These toddler cups are fantastic! Your toddler can carry it around upside down and it won’t leak at all! Save your floors and your sanity from leaky drippy sippy cups! Options come with or without handles, and in a variety of colors and patterns. These are also dentist approved, and help your little one learn to drink out of a real cup!
4). EZPZ Happy Mat
This silicone place mat has a built in plate to contain your kiddo’s food, and it suctions to any flat surface to reduce tipped over bowls and plates, resulting in less mess! It is also dishwasher and microwave safe!
5). Clean Hands Changing Pad
Diaper changing is a messy affair… especially when the diaper is poopy!!! It never fails too, my daughter has to grab and fling the diaper before I can stop her, or stick her hands where they don’t belong!! GROSS!!! Well here is the solution to that problem!!! The Clean Hands Changing Pad blocks your baby’s hands from touching something they shouldn’t during changing time, keeping the situation clean, and you a happy momma!
6). Baby Breeza Reusable Food Pouches
I just bought these and I love them already! Sure, you can buy those applesauce pouches at the store, and those are great, my kids LOVE them!!! But there are limited options available. If you buy the tubs of yogurt, and your toddler makes a huge mess when eating it, this is for you! If you make your own baby food, then this product is for you! And definitely if you want LESS MESS, then these pouches are for you!!!
These pouches are reusable. They open down the side and Ziploc closed, making a tight seal that doesn’t leak. They come with a very wide funnel to make filling them super easy! The opposite side opens up so they stand on their own while filling them. And they have a screw on cap so you can make multiple at a time and store them until your kiddos are ready to eat! They are also dishwasher and freezer safe!!! Cleaning them is so easy!! These are also perfect for traveling, as you can bring them along for a quick mess-less snack in the car!
7). Car seat protector and seat back organizer
Our car gets so dirty with two toddlers in the backseat. These car seat protectors keep the seat clean when our kiddos spill their drink or drop their snack. The seat back organizer protects the seat back from dirty little feet kicking it. Bonus, it organizes their gear, and hold a tablet so they can watch movies on long road trips!!
8). Dyson V8 Absolute Cordless Vacuum
Yes, I know this isn’t a baby item, but I feel like I have to mention it because it has been an absolute life saver in our house!!! Our floor is never clean with two toddlers. This cordless vacuum makes clean up so much easier though! It’s light weight and no cord to plug in make it so easy to just grab and do a quick clean! I use it multiple times a day for a quick once over in the kitchen and living areas. This vacuum comes with a bunch of different attachments also. It converts to a hand held vacuum so makes stair cleaning a breeze, and can also be used to vacuum your car!! With an attachment for hard floor, and another for carpet, it can be used throughout your entire home!
9). Waterproof Silicone Bibs With Pocket
These bibs are perfect for meal time. They have a pocket to catch food that doesn’t quite make it in the mouth, and they wipe clean really easily!! They have an adjustable clasp so they can be used as your kiddo grows, and they roll up easily to take up little space, so they are perfect to bring with you while traveling!
10). Sippy Cup Leash
The sippy cup leash was such a great invention. Attach this to your child’s high chair or stroller to prevent their cup or bottle from falling, or being thrown, on the floor or ground! Keep their cup, and your floors, clean!!
11). Pacifier Clip
Kind of like the sippy cup leash, this keeps your baby’s pacifier from falling onto the floor or ground, keeping their paci germ-free! Added bonus: this brand comes in some pretty cool patterns!
12). Pacifier and Bottle Wipes
And just in case the pacifier or bottle do happen to end up on the ground, these pacifier and bottle wipes with clean them off quickly so they can continue to use while you’re out and about!
13). BabyBum Diaper Cream Brush
This diaper cream brush is the greatest!!! Let’s face it, all babies get diaper rash at some point. Diaper cream is thick and nasty, and a pain in the you know what to get off your fingers!! This is the solution to that problem! Use this brush to apply the diaper cream and keep your fingers clean! This one even comes with a travel size!
14). Bissell SpinWave Cordless Electric Mop
Again, this isn’t a baby item, but it has made my life SO much easier! I really really dislike mopping. I felt like my floors were always messy from spills, dirty shoes, and dropped food, but I definitely did not have time to mop the floor every day. Not to mention the exertion that scrubbing the floor with a mop put on me, when I was already exhausted from dealing with two toddlers all day.Â
Then I discovered this little gem. I LOVE it! I can’t even express how much I love it! This mop does all the work for you as it glides over your floor spinning the scrubber pads to get the dirt and grime right off! It did not leave any streaks, and the floor dried really quickly after using it. It is cordless, so it’s easy to just grab and use whenever you need to! No annoying cords to deal with! And the floor cleaner goes into the container on the mop, with a handy button to spray it out in front of the mop whenever needed!Â
This mop comes with two scrubber pads, and two soft microfiber pads. The pads are attached with velcro, and are machine washable, so you just pop them off and throw in the laundry when they get dirty. It also comes with two bottles of floor cleaner, and a stand for easy docking to charge and store. I was able to mop the entire bottom floor of my house (which is mostly luxury vinyl) on one charge, so the battery lasts pretty long. I can’t recommend this product enough! It is actually fun to mop now!
