Our Travel Traditions

Spread the love

Since we have started traveling, we have started some traditions at each location we visit.  These traditions are a fun way to help us remember our vacations and also to document them.  Since we love visiting the National Parks, we bought this National Park Map to mark the places that we have been!

Instead of using the traditional push pins, however, we buy a pin at each place we visit, and use that to mark the place on the map.  This gives our map a little bit of character, and it is fun to look at the different pins that represent each park!  Below is a slideshow of some of our favorites.

We also have a National Park passport that we stamp at each park we visit.  Now that we have children, we have gotten the kids version for them as well so they can have fun getting ranger autographs, and documenting their trip!

Because we were not married when we started our travels, we really had not accumulated very many Christmas ornaments.  So we decided to make this one of our traveling traditions! Each time we visit a new place, we also buy a Christmas ornament now.  It’s so fun getting them out each year at Christmas and reminiscing on our travels as we look at each one!  Here are some of our favorites.

And finally, once we are back home and my photographs are sorted, I make a photo book of each trip.  This is a wonderful way to document our travels, and something that we look at over and over.  I use Blurb.com to create our photo books.  They are very user friendly, and create gorgeous books! Here are some examples of our books.
